ScaleSense LLC ("ScaleSense", "we", "us") provides wireless scales that monitor liquor and wine bottles and beer kegs, an on-site gateway, a web dashboard, and a mobile app for bars and restaurants. This policy explains what information we collect through our apps and services, how we use it, and your choices. ScaleSense is a tool for businesses; our apps are intended for staff and operators of venues that use our system, not for the general public.

Information we collect

• Account information. When your venue creates an account for you, we store your name, email address, and assigned role (e.g. Staff, Manager, Admin). Authentication is handled through Amazon Cognito.
• Notification contact details. If you or your venue turn on alerts or daily reports, we store the email address and mobile phone number to send them to. A venue can also add email addresses for people without an account, who receive the daily report only.
• Push notification token. If you enable push alerts, we store the device push token issued by Apple or Google so we can deliver inventory and device notifications. You can disable this in your device settings.
• Operational data. Our scales report measurements such as the weight of each bottle and keg, battery level, signal strength, and device identifiers. From these we derive how much is left, when a bottle is lifted and returned, and how much each pour was. This data describes equipment and inventory at a venue; it is not used to identify individual people, and it does not record who poured.
• Venue data. Information your venue enters, such as its locations, products, bottle sizes and costs, alert settings, and business hours.
• Bluetooth. The mobile app may ask for Bluetooth permission to communicate with nearby ScaleSense equipment. We do not use Bluetooth to track your location or collect personal data.
• Diagnostic logs. We may collect basic technical logs to operate and troubleshoot the service.

What we do not collect

We do not collect precise device location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.

How we use information

• To provide and operate the dashboard, mobile app, and monitoring service.
• To send the alerts and notifications you or your venue configure.
• To secure accounts, support users, and improve reliability.

How information is stored and shared

Data is processed and stored on Amazon Web Services. We share information only with service providers that help us run the product, and only as needed to provide the service or where required by law: AWS (hosting, data processing, and sending email and text messages), Expo, Apple and Google (push-notification delivery), and Cloudflare (hosting this website and our documentation). Each scale's gateway connects to our service over a cellular data connection. We do not sell your data.

Data retention

We retain account and operational data for as long as your venue uses ScaleSense, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for support, legal, and business records. Raw scale readings are kept for 30 days. Pour records and daily inventory reports are kept for as long as your venue uses ScaleSense, as its inventory history.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections, token-based authentication, and on-device secure storage of credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your choices & rights

You can disable push notifications in your device settings. To access, correct, or delete your account information, contact your venue administrator or email us at support@scale-sense.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

Children

ScaleSense is not directed to children and is intended for use by adults operating a licensed business. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the app or by email.
